Transforming sickle cell care through technology
Sickle cell disease affects over 20 million people worldwide, with the highest burden in sub-Saharan Africa. Tracka exists to ensure every patient is tracked, every crisis is recorded, and every health program has the data it needs to save lives.

From pilot to platform
Tracka began as a response to a simple but devastating reality: across Africa, millions of sickle cell patients were invisible to the health system.
Founded with a Mission
Tracka was founded after recognizing the critical gap in sickle cell disease tracking across Africa. With over 300,000 babies born with SCD annually in Nigeria alone, existing paper-based systems were failing patients.
First Pilot in Lagos
Deployed the first pilot across 12 health facilities in Lagos State. Field agents began digitizing patient records and tracking clinical outcomes for the first time at scale.
Expansion to 24 States
Scaled from a single-state pilot to 24 states and 342 facilities. Launched the offline-first mobile app enabling field agents to work in remote communities without internet connectivity.
Data API & Global Partnerships
Launched the Tracka Data API, giving researchers and health organizations access to anonymized, aggregated sickle cell data. Began formal collaboration with international health organizations across Africa.
Pan-African Vision
Expanding beyond Nigeria to serve sickle cell programs across West and Central Africa. Building new modules for newborn screening integration and predictive crisis alerts.
What drives us every day
These principles guide every decision we make — from the features we build to the partnerships we form.
Patient-Centered
Every feature we build starts with the question: how does this improve outcomes for the sickle cell patient? Technology must serve people, not the other way around.
Built for Africa
We design for the realities of African healthcare — intermittent connectivity, shared devices, low-bandwidth environments, and multi-language requirements.
Privacy by Design
Patient data is sacred. We implement role-based access, external-observer anonymization, consent management, and comprehensive audit trails at every level of the platform.
Collaboration
We work hand-in-hand with haematologists, field agents, health administrators, and international health advisors to ensure Tracka solves real problems in the field.
Data-Driven Impact
We believe that better data leads to better care. Our analytics and API help health programs make evidence-based decisions that improve outcomes at scale.
Open Ecosystem
Through our Data API, we make anonymized sickle cell data available to researchers, NGOs, and governments — accelerating the global fight against SCD.
